📍 TL;DR: We only collect what's necessary to keep you safe. Your location is only accessed when you check in or when an emergency alert is sent. We never sell your data, never track you, and never share your information with anyone except your chosen emergency contact.
1. Who We Are
StillHere ("we", "our", "us") is a mobile safety application operated by an independent developer. You can contact us at support@stillhereapp.lat.
2. What Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information needed to provide the service:
- Device ID: A unique identifier for your device, used to identify your account. No personal name or email is required.
- Emergency Contact Information: The name, phone number, and email address of your chosen emergency contact. This is stored securely and only used to send alerts.
- Check-In Records: Timestamps of when you check in to the app.
- Location Data: Your GPS coordinates and address, captured only at the moment you check in or when an emergency alert is triggered. We do not track your location continuously.
- Payment Information: Processed entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store or have access to your payment details.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the check-in monitoring service
- To send emergency alerts to your designated contact when you miss check-ins
- To include your last known location in emergency alerts so your contact can find you
- To send you push notifications reminding you to check in
4. Location Data — Important Details
📍 Your location is captured only in two situations: (1) when you tap the check-in button, and (2) when an emergency alert is sent to your contact. We do not track your location at any other time. Location data from previous check-ins is stored to be included in alerts and is deleted when you delete the app or your account.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We share your information only as follows:
- Your emergency contact: When an alert is triggered, we send your name and location to the contact you specified.
- Twilio: Used to send WhatsApp messages. Subject to Twilio's privacy policy.
- Resend: Used to send email alerts. Subject to Resend's privacy policy.
- Supabase: Our database provider. Your data is stored securely in their infrastructure.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or any other third parties.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as you use the app. Check-in records older than 90 days are automatically deleted. If you delete the app, you can contact us to request deletion of all your data.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Update or correct your emergency contact information
- Opt out of the service at any time by deleting the app

8. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Emergency contact information is stored using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase Row Level Security to ensure users can only access their own data.
9. Children's Privacy
StillHere is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
